Supply Drop off
Wednesday, September 5th from 10:00-11:00 a.m.
Second graders please stop by room 16 to drop off your school supplies and check out our room. We can't wait to meet you!
Open House

Classroom News
We will have a morning snack every day. Snack will be about 10 minutes, so please have it be one healthy snack your child can eat quickly and independently. No candy will be allowed for our morning snack time.
The students are allowed to have a plastic water bottle filled with water only on their desk throughout the day. Our classroom is located near a water bottle fill-up station therefore, the students are allowed to fill up their water bottles when necessary throughout the day.
We will have a choice activity time at the end of each day for any students who have demonstrated expected behaviors.
Schoolwide News
Our grade level color this year is RED.
The second graders will eat lunch from 11:55-12:35 p.m. The students will eat lunch first and then go outside for recess, weather permitting.
Please have your child have a pair of sneakers each day to play safely on the equipment. The students are allowed to change into sneakers, as long as they can do so independently.
Special Area News
We will have Phys. Ed. on Days 1, 2, 4, and 5. Please remember sneakers!
Art will be on Day 3.
Music will be on Day 6.
Computer Lab will be on Day 4.

Mrs. Hurley
Second Grade Teacher
Mrs. Hurley has been teaching for the past 18 years in South Colonie. She enjoys reading a good book, rooting for the NY Yankees and spending time with her family.
Philosophy
We believe that it is important to prepare each child for their own path.  We strive to encourage and challenge our students to simply, brilliantly, and empathetically believe in their own abilities -- and the abilities of others.
